Location:

The nursery building is situated in the centre of town adjacent to a public car park. There is ample car parking which makes it easy to drop off and pick up.

The Opening hours: Monday to Friday all year round

Full Day Session: 7.00 am to 6.00 pm

Morning Session: 7.00 am to 12.00 pm

Afternoon Session: 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm

Fixed Holidays: Closed Christmas day and re-open 5th January each year.

The Garden

The nursery has a safe enclosed garden where babies can sleep and a separate garden area where they can grow flowers and vegetables making use of the plastic greenhouse. The care and welfare of our garden pets is part of the children's learning experience. Another separate area is covered with special playground soft surface allowing the childrfen to play on frames and chutes and other suitable outdoor equipment and run and jump in safety.

Big Bird Nursery School Philosophy

A safe secure stimulating and happy environment for each and every child will be the aim of the nursery. The needs, wishes and involvement of both the child and the parents, with the co-operation of the staff, will ensure that this will be achieved. Each child is special, an individual, with their own needs and interests, likes and dislikes, we at the nursery will endeavour to explore their aptitudes and offer appropriate activities which will encourage them to attain their level of achievement. By way of planning daily activities, using a variety of materials, musical instruments, dressing up games and all forms of imaginative play in a setting which will encourage the emotional, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of each child.
