We at Big Bird, recognise the importance of following the routine you as a parent have already established at home. We provide a safe secure environment, allowing for your child's eating and sleep pattern along with stimulating activities. It is important that babies enjoy the warm, fun atmosphere of the nursery. Walks in the fresh air and being outdoors, when appropriate will all help your child's development.

The Pre-school Room The Pre-school Room
Gaining in confidence and having the ability to concentrate, the pre-school children enjoy choosing who and what to play with. Guided by our own qualified teacher and her staff they will explore all areas of the curriculum fully enjoying the experience of learning through play.
The Messy Room
Our pre-school children enjoy a variety of activities in the messy room. These include sand, water, dough, painting, gluing and clay to name a few. This area provides the children with new skills and ideas associated with all 5 areas of the curriculum. All artwork is displayed throughout the nursery. See our gallery page for further examples of our children's work. It is important that we help build children's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.We ensure that the children receive regular visits from the community police, dental hygienists, dance instructors and others. This coupled with weekly visits to the local library for story telling and regular outings to local places of interest by foot and mini-bus makes learning fun. This results in a confident, happy child ready to enter primary school.
